The Married Couples Ministry started in 2003, when 24 couples were part of the wedding vow renewal ceremony. Approximately nine months after the vows renewal, there were 7 pregnancies which resulted in 7 new babies being born.
First Lady Luphelia Maples asked Deacon Willie and Missionary Alice Maples to be the leader of the Married Summit group which was the name of the group at that time. Since 2023, the name has evolved to the Married Couples Ministry which hosts summits, couple dinners, couple seminars, cruises and many other activities for married couples.
The mission and vison of Deacon Willie and Missionary Alice is to show that married couples can come together and have fun and still fellowship and walk in holiness.The ministry is all inclusive for every married couple, all ideas are welcomed and respected. It was expressed and understood that every married couple whether their spouse is a member of the church are welcome.
The only qualification is that you are a married couple.
