The week of June 24 – 30, 2024 is the Apostolic Deliverance Temple 48th Church Anniversary. This means 48 years ago the Apostolic Deliverance Temple Church of Jesus Christ was born on the bicentennial Sunday, July 4, 1976, in the Lemoyne Garden Auditorium and what a great day it was. Twenty-seven (27) people and I started celebrating in the ministry. Since that day God has done marvelous and matchless things for the saints and other believers in the body of Christ. Words cannot describe the feeling I have in my spirit around this time of year because I am able to reminisce on the marvelous works of God. I can know that God is real, and he will do just what he says. He has not failed us; he has healed, delivered, and set souls free under the anointing of his presence. Great things happened and are continuing to happen in the presence of the Lord.
Today, as the saints come together and gather to worship and praise God in the beauty of holiness, God continues to show up and show out by pouring out his spirit of the Holy Ghost by the evidence of speaking in tongues. Repentance and baptism in the name of Jesus still occurs to those who have repented. We continue our outreach through our ministries of Birthday Committee, Church to Your House, First Lady Helpers, Foreign Mission, Health Ministry, Hospitality Committee, Married Couples Ministry, Media Ministry, Prayer Band Ministry, Prison Ministry, Repast Committee Ministry, Singles Ministry, Unique Women Ministry, Anthony L. Byrd Scholarship Fund, Youth Ministry, Sunday School Ministry, Virtual Outreach Ministry, and Young Adults Ministry. As you see our church has several ministries and outreach opportunities to assist God’s people regarding the plan of salvation and other areas.
I still remember renovating the building that was located at 306 South Parkway East which was a building of “ill repute” and turning it into a House of Worship, Deliverance, Praise and Prayer. The church building became known as “the church under the bridge”.
